More Stuff

So, this time when I'm blogging, I decided I would say something meaningful....or not however you take it. Well, let's start with this:

I'm in a digital journaling class, however I really don't like taking pictures or blogging or anything like that. Taking pictures makes me feel like such a tourist all the time and I think it's really obnoxious. Although, I do like looking at photography, I just feel unconfortable walking around with a camera instead of taking in life and enjoying moments without stopping and capturing them with a camera that gets in the way. Especially when it comes to concerts, I love going to shows and I love how concert photography looks. However, when I'm at shows I want to be there fully, and not see the show behind a camera. I love being a part of the action, in the pit, along with everyone else. I've always hated those people who stand in the crowd watching the whole show through a camera. Yet, the end result is always great art, I guess I just don't have the patience for it. Or maybe I just like to live in the moment.

Another thing you should know:

I love music (clearly). Kind of obsessively, actually. It might be an issue. But that's besides the point. A lot of people I know say my music is "weird," which, I guess it's reasonable to say so. I like a lot of punk, ska, metal some that i wouldn't even know how to categorize. After all, I know I'm no expert nor do I claim to be, I just love music. That's it. Bands like Ramones, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, A Day To Remember, Korn, Rancid, System of A Down, Authority Zero, Big D & The Kids Table are just a few of the many that inspire me. I just recently began (attempting) to write some of my own songs, most of which I find unbearably melodramatic and stupid. But, I've been trying to fit melodies with my words. I learned a little bit about how chord progressions and such are supposed to work but I don't think I ever really processed it all. So when I write, it's basically all by ear and what sounds right to me.

  1. Hey Dan, good job on the new blog and i like how its informal and just talking instead of saying things that you would never say in real life.

  2. Danni, I really like your post! I like how you put your reasons for not liking to take pictures and how you like to be apart of things. I however have to disagree. I love taking pictures to capture moments so I can relive how great they were. Being able to be reminded about great moments in my life are worth stepping out of the big picture for just a moment (well to me anyways). Even though I slightly disagree, I still like and appreciate your opinion.

  3. DAN, this is a great blog. I love music too. Just not your kind, but I like that you express yourself and do not care what everyone says.
